The Mines

In the cold high mountains, the miners dug too deep, and released something evil within. The evil flooded the mines with its minions and ill spawn, laying waste to the mines and destroying the once thriving mining town. All that remains is a hidden refugee camp, hanging on to survival in the barren cold. Your mission is to build a party and delve deeper and deeper into the mines and destroy the source of evil and at last gain freedom.

The Mines is a turn based combat dungeon crawler RPG focused heavily on combat and party building featuring:

1. Character creation with a large number of races and classes each with unique skills and attributes. This combined with a larger party (8, with at least one being an NPC), means leveling up many variations and assembling your party for different moments in your journey is an important aspect of the game.

2. Perma-death - Be prepared to create many characters, and send them to their death as you delve deeper and deeper into the mines seeking freedom.

3. A large number of items and spells. This gives lots of upgrade and levelling up options and provides multiple paths to victories in combat.

4. A large number of fixed combat encounters providing lots of interesting combat scenarios and the need for meaningful decisions by the player. While some grinding still occurs, it has been designed to avoid heavy grinding as a means to victory, ensuring more tactics and strategy over grinding.

5. A hospital system for recovering party members so you always have a rotating cast of party members to assemble and venture forth with.

Instructions

(p) - Pressing p enters party combat. Useful when a character is nuts!

(d) - Pressing d kicks out any NPCs from the party. Useful if you want a new NPC but have no room.

(o) - Change party order.

(m) - Bring up menu for volume and controls. Note If you are not using the mouse it is helpful to turn it off, as otherwise hovering mouse sometimes changes things when you are also using the keyboard to navigate menus.
